Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of TrustedLocals. By sending a service request, submitting a provider application, or holding a territory license, you agree to them.

1. What TrustedLocals is

TrustedLocals is a referral, routing, and verification service. We review independent local companies and maintain one active company assignment per service category per territory. We are not a contractor. We do not perform, supervise, or warrant the work. The contract for the work itself is between the homeowner and the assigned company.

2. Homeowner service requests

  • You must be 18 or older and authorized to arrange work on the property.
  • Information you submit must be accurate. Inaccurate addresses or descriptions may delay or prevent service.
  • Submitting a request authorizes TrustedLocals to pass the submitted details to the single assigned company when a matching territory assignment exists.
  • You consent to be contacted by phone, SMS, or email about your request. See the Privacy Policy.
  • TrustedLocals does not guarantee response time, acceptance, scheduling, completion, workmanship, or outcome.
  • Pricing, scope, scheduling, warranties, and payment for the work are set by the assigned company directly with you.

3. Vetting and the verification record

Vetting reflects records available at the time of review. Depending on the service and available evidence, those records may include business identity, state license information, insurance information, and complaint, disciplinary, or other supporting records. Vetting is not an endorsement, a guarantee of outcome, or a substitute for your own judgment. You should independently confirm license and insurance status where appropriate before work begins. TrustedLocals may end an assignment or remove a company from the network.

4. Verified reviews

Reviews may be submitted through a single-use link tied to a completed TrustedLocals booking, and only once per eligible booking. You are responsible for the content you submit. It must be truthful and must not contain unlawful, defamatory, or improperly disclosed personal information. TrustedLocals may decline to publish or may remove review content that violates these terms, and may republish eligible review content across its pages with the reviewer's first name and a verified-booking indicator.

5. Provider territory licenses

  • A license grants exclusive placement for one service category within one defined territory for the duration of the active license.
  • Subscriptions bill monthly in advance and renew automatically until canceled under the billing terms that apply to the license.
  • The Founding Partner rate is $1,497 per month for the first 10 territories and remains locked for as long as that same license remains active. The Standard rate is $2,497 per month thereafter.
  • Fees are for placement and routing. They are not commissions on completed work.
  • Providers must keep the business, license, insurance, and other records supplied to TrustedLocals accurate and current where those records apply.
  • TrustedLocals makes no guarantee of request volume, booked-job volume, revenue, conversion, or minimum number of opportunities.
  • If a territory is redefined or split, any resulting placement rights are governed by the active territory agreement and applicable billing terms.
  • Non-payment may result in suspension or termination under the billing and territory-license terms in effect.
  • Cancellation and termination are governed by the active territory agreement and billing terms in effect for that license.

6. Payments

Provider subscriptions are processed by our payment processor. TrustedLocals does not store full card details. Failed payments may be marked past due. Amounts owed for periods in which a license was active remain subject to the applicable billing terms.

7. Acceptable use

Do not submit false requests, scrape or interfere with the site, attempt to circumvent access controls or territory licensing, misuse contact information, or misrepresent your identity, credentials, or records.

8. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we disclaim responsibility for the acts, omissions, workmanship, or conduct of any provider or homeowner.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TrustedLocals is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or property damage arising from work performed by a provider. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold TrustedLocals harmless from claims arising out of your use of the service, your submitted content, or, if you are a provider, your performance of work sourced through the network.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and both parties consent to that venue.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes affecting provider licenses may be communicated to active licensees before they take effect. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised terms.
