Privacy Policy

TrustedLocals operates a single-provider referral network: one company assignment per service category per territory. When a matching assignment exists, the service-request details you submit go to that assigned local company. They are not sent to a pool of contractors bidding for the same request, and they are not sold to data brokers.

Information we collect

• Directory activity. Company profile views, directory searches and website, call-button and request-start clicks, with the service and area involved. These events do not include search text, names, phone numbers, addresses or raw IP addresses. A daily hashed network identifier helps limit automated traffic. A click does not establish that a call connected or a job was booked. You can opt out of usage measurement in Privacy & analytics.
• Service-request details. Service category, ZIP code, service address, urgency, your description of the problem, optional photos, and preferred time windows.
• Contact information. Name, phone number, and email address.
• Consent record. The fact that you agreed to be contacted, and the date and time you agreed.
• Call records. When you call a TrustedLocals number: the number you called from, the time, the approximate location your phone carrier reports, whether the call was connected, and how long it lasted. Calls are not recorded; we keep no audio. If you tapped the number on our site, the campaign parameters from that visit are attached to the call record.
• Review content. The rating and any text you submit after a completed booking.
• Provider applications. Business name, contact name, email, phone, service, territory, and any website, Google, or Yelp links you add. During review we also record public information we look up ourselves: Google and Yelp listings, state license, and insurance.
• Technical data. IP address, browser type, and referring campaign parameters, used to operate the service and measure acquisition performance.

How we use it

We use service-request details to record the request, match it to a territory and service category, route it to the assigned company when a match exists, communicate about that request, request a verified review after a completed booking, and maintain the TrustedLocals service record. We may use aggregate, de-identified data to understand demand and territory coverage.

Who we share it with

• Your assigned company. When a matching assignment exists, it receives the details needed to respond to the request, by email and by text message to its dispatch phone.
• Service vendors. Vendors that operate this platform on our behalf, including hosting and database services, transactional email delivery, call connection, text message delivery to the assigned company, and payment processing for provider subscriptions. They act on our instructions and under their own applicable service terms.
• Legal recipients. Where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect safety, rights, or the integrity of the service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not distribute one service request to competing contractors. We do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask for.

Communications and SMS

By submitting a service request you consent to be contacted by TrustedLocals and, when a match exists, the assigned local company by phone, SMS, or email about that request. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to a text message to opt out of texts, or email us to request that contact stop. Opting out may prevent TrustedLocals or the assigned company from reaching you about the request.

Reviews

Reviews may be collected through a private, single-use link tied to a completed TrustedLocals booking. When a review is published, we may show the rating, review text, first name, and a verified-booking indicator. We do not publish your phone number, email address, or street address as part of the review.

What this device keeps

Your browser keeps two small records, and nothing on our servers ties them to you. First, the campaign that first brought you to the site, for 90 days, so a request carries where it came from. Second, after you send a request: the ZIP code you typed, the service, and your private status link. The next time you open the site on this device, the ZIP code and service are filled in, and the home page and the request form show your request with a link to its status and a Book again button.

Anyone who uses this browser can open that status link. On a shared device, tap "Forget this device" under Your request, or clear this site's data in your browser settings. We never guess your location from your IP address.

When you send another request

When a new request comes from your status link, or carries the same phone number as an earlier request, we link the two on our servers. We see that you came back. The company that receives the new request is told you are a returning customer only if it also handled one of your earlier requests; it never sees requests that went to other companies. Each request keeps its own record of how you found us.

Retention

We keep service-request records for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, meet accounting and legal obligations, and maintain verified review records. Review links may expire under the rules applied to the link when it is issued.

Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, subject to applicable law and exceptions, you may have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you.
• Request access to a copy of that information.
• Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
• Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. TrustedLocals does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• Not be discriminated against for exercising applicable privacy rights.

To submit a privacy request, email hello@trustedlocals.co with the phone number or email you used with TrustedLocals. We may verify the request before acting on it. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf where permitted by law and with appropriate authorization.

Security

We use access controls and database security rules designed to limit access to service records. Photos you upload are stored in a private storage area and are not intended to be publicly listed. No security measure can guarantee absolute security.

Children

This service is for adults arranging work on property they own or manage. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised policy.
