Privacy Policy

TrustedLocals operates a single-provider referral network: one company assignment per service category per territory. When a matching assignment exists, the service-request details you submit go to that assigned local company. They are not sent to a pool of contractors bidding for the same request, and they are not sold to data brokers.
Information we collect
- Service-request details. Service category, ZIP code, service address, urgency, your description of the problem, optional photos, and preferred time windows.
- Contact information. Name, phone number, and email address.
- Consent record. The fact that you agreed to be contacted, and the date and time you agreed.
- Review content. The rating and any text you submit after a completed booking.
- Provider applications. Business name, contact details, license number, insurance carrier, rating information, service ZIP codes, team size, and supporting links you choose to provide.
- Technical data. IP address, browser type, and referring campaign parameters, used to operate the service and measure acquisition performance.
How we use it
We use service-request details to record the request, match it to a territory and service category, route it to the assigned company when a match exists, communicate about that request, request a verified review after a completed booking, and maintain the TrustedLocals service record. We may use aggregate, de-identified data to understand demand and territory coverage.
Who we share it with
- Your assigned company. When a matching assignment exists, it receives the details needed to respond to the request.
- Service vendors. Vendors that operate this platform on our behalf, including hosting and database services, transactional email delivery, and payment processing for provider subscriptions. They act on our instructions and under their own applicable service terms.
- Legal recipients. Where disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect safety, rights, or the integrity of the service.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not distribute one service request to competing contractors. We do not add you to marketing lists you did not ask for.
Communications and SMS
By submitting a service request you consent to be contacted by TrustedLocals and, when a match exists, the assigned local company by phone, SMS, or email about that request. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to a text message to opt out of texts, or email us to request that contact stop. Opting out may prevent TrustedLocals or the assigned company from reaching you about the request.
Reviews
Reviews may be collected through a private, single-use link tied to a completed TrustedLocals booking. When a review is published, we may show the rating, review text, first name, and a verified-booking indicator. We do not publish your phone number, email address, or street address as part of the review.
Retention
We keep service-request records for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, meet accounting and legal obligations, and maintain verified review records. Review links may expire under the rules applied to the link when it is issued.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, subject to applicable law and exceptions, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you.
- Request access to a copy of that information.
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. TrustedLocals does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising applicable privacy rights.
To submit a privacy request, email privacy@trustedlocals.com with the phone number or email you used with TrustedLocals. We may verify the request before acting on it. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf where permitted by law and with appropriate authorization.
Security
We use access controls and database security rules designed to limit access to service records. Photos you upload are stored in a private storage area and are not intended to be publicly listed. No security measure can guarantee absolute security.
Children
This service is for adults arranging work on property they own or manage. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised policy.
